Preparing for Your Appointment
We want you to have the best possible experience when you come see us. Think of this as your little prep guide — nothing scary or strict, just helpful tips to make sure your skin is happy, your appointment runs smoothly, and you walk out glowing.
Keep us in the loop
Your skin tells a story, and part of that story comes from what’s happening in your body and lifestyle. Please share any new medications, health changes, recent procedures, or even big shifts in diet or stress. These things all play a role in how your skin behaves, and knowing them helps us customize your treatment safely.
Bring your products along
If you’ve started using a new serum, cream, or anything outside what we’ve recommended — bring it with you! We’ll peek at the ingredients together, talk through how it fits into your routine, and make a note in your chart. That way, we’re all on the same page and your skin gets consistent care.
Morning-of appointments
If you’re booked before noon, skip your morning skincare routine. That means no serums, no moisturizer, and no SPF — just roll in fresh-faced. Your skin will be prepped and ready for us to begin without any extra layers in the way.
Clean skin is best
Try to arrive without makeup (even tinted sunscreen). Don’t worry if you forget — we’ll take care of it for you — but keep in mind that time spent removing makeup cuts into the hands-on portion of your service.
Pause your actives
Retinols, exfoliating acids (AHAs and BHAs), and prescription topicals like Tretinoin should be set aside for at least 72 hours before your facial appointment. This helps prevent sensitivity and ensures your skin is ready to soak up all the benefits of your treatment.
For facial waxing, the pause needs to be a little longer: at least 7 days off of Tretinoin or strong actives before your wax. These products make your skin more delicate, and giving it a full week off helps protect you from irritation or skin lifting.
Prepping for Your Head Spa Experience
For the best results, come in with clean hair that’s been washed within 48 hours. Please brush through and detangle your hair before you arrive so we can get right to the relaxing part. Skip heavy styling products that day — we want your scalp and strands fresh and ready for treatment.
Protect your glow
Please avoid tanning and direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. If you come in with a sunburn, we’ll have to reschedule. Your safety and skin health always come first.
Plan your day wisely
Facials are a chance for your skin — and you — to rest. That means no workouts immediately after your service. Sweat and freshly treated skin aren’t a good mix. If you want to fit in a workout, do it before your appointment.
Also, keep in mind that first-time facials can leave your skin with a temporary pink glow as it adjusts to all the new love we’re giving it. It’s best not to book your first-ever facial the day before a big event. Instead, plan ahead so your skin has plenty of time to settle into its new radiance.
Bring your questions
We love curious clients! If there’s something you’ve been wondering about — products, ingredients, routines, or even just “why is my skin doing this weird thing?” — write it down and bring it with you. This is your time, and we’re here to help.
After Your Appointment
Your treatment doesn’t end when you leave — what you do at home in the next 24–48 hours makes a big difference in how your skin feels and heals.
Take it easy
Your skin just had a workout. Give it some downtime. Avoid sweating, hot yoga, or the gym right after your facial. Think of it as a free pass to rest!
Skip the harsh stuff
Hold off on exfoliating products, scrubs, or actives (like retinols, AHAs, BHAs, or Tretinoin) for at least 3–5 days post-treatment unless we’ve specifically told you otherwise. Your skin needs time to repair and soak up all the benefits of your facial.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
Drink plenty of water and use a gentle, nourishing moisturizer. Your skin is more absorbent after treatment, so keeping it hydrated will maximize your glow.
Sun safety is non-negotiable
Always wear SPF — especially after a facial. Your skin is more sensitive to the sun and needs that extra layer of protection.
Hands off
As tempting as it is, avoid touching, picking, or poking at your skin. Let it breathe and do its thing.
Expect a little pink
It’s normal to notice a rosy flush or slight sensitivity after certain treatments. This should fade within a day. If it lingers longer, reach out — we’re here for you.
✨ With these little before-and-after steps, your skin will stay safe, healthy, and radiant — exactly how we want you to feel after every visit to Bronze Fox Beauty.
